Jackie Collins (4 October 1937 - 19 September 2015) was an English fictional novelist.
Born in Hampstead, London then later moved to Los Angeles in the 80s were she lived and spent most of her writing career.
Her first publication in the 60s was criticised in some countries and was banned in places like Australia and South Africa. However, this never dicouraged her from showcasing the novel and her writing skills.
Some of her novels are in sequels like the fictional story of the Santagelo family which started with the first book "Chances". It tells the story of Gino Santagelo and how a poor street boy grew up to be a business tycoon owning hotels, and meeting celebrities and other business moguls. The story continued into the writing of other books like "Lady Boss" & "Lucky", revolving around the life of his daughter .
She has written over 30 novels in her career and received recognitions or awards like Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
